Recession Update
ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations) have set up a website aimed at helping the voluntary and community sector through the economic downturn. Includes a selection of tips about business, cost savings, fraud prevention, staff management and funding as well as links to courses and relevant events.
Charity Commission has produced a survival guide “The Big Board Talk” covering strategy, financial health, governance and the use of resources. Designed to be used as a structure for discussion at trustee meetings, planning events, away days, etc. Download a copy from the Charity Commission website.
“Managing in Tough Times” a guide commissioned by the Bristol and West of England ChangeUp Consortia. The guide covers key issues for VCS organisations during periods of financial insecurity. It offers a framework for identifying and assessing risks and guidance on how an organisation can manage and adjust to change.
